The team quickly learns that they Collectors share a similar "quad-strand genetic structure" previously exhibited by only one other species to inhabit Citadel Space: the Protheans. While exploring the ship, the Normandy's new AI system, EDI, will begin analyzing the interior and exterior of the environment. The Illusive Man will eventually contact Shepard a few main missions into the game and send them to a "derelict" Collector ship. It's later revealed that the Collectors attempted to purchase Shepard's body-an endeavor stopped by Dr. During Shepard's two-year absence and revival thanks to Cerberus and the Lazarus Project, the Collectors begin to target and "collect" human colonists. The Collectors will occasionally put out requests for particularly specific individuals-sometimes in sets of a dozen or more. This species gets their name from their strange "trade" requests. However, the Collectors are quite real, and tend to appear in and around Omega via the Omega 4 Relay. Drag and drop the zip file to the manager and install (or import, then 'Apply Mod'). This mod does work with columnFive's excellent Nearly Unrestricted Weapons for LE2. Depending on Shepard's class the choice still potentially results in acquiring a new weapon, so players should keep this in mind. When the player gets to the Collector Ship mission and accesses the terminal that reveals the true nature of the collectors the player is still asked to make a choice of bonus weapon/training. Once a player has boarded the Normandy, they can choose the weapons using the loadout locker or when selecting weapons before a mission. Unfortunately, players don't get to choose weapon loadouts until they board the Normandy SR2. The weapons technically become available as soon as you pick up the grenade launcher. This mod makes the special weapons in LE2, (Claymore, Revenant, and Widow), available to Shepard and squadmates capable of using the weapons' classes after the Freedom's Progress mission.
